Product Information
KE00993 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human OCT1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human OCT1. The assay recognizes human OCT1. An antibody specific for human OCT1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human OCT1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human OCT1 is added to detect the captured human OCT1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
OCT1 (also known as POU2F1) is a ubiquitously expressed transcription factor belonging to the POU-domain family, playing a crucial role in various biological processes. It is involved in the regulation of gene expression, cell differentiation, and proliferation. For instance, it is essential for T cell differentiation, and its overexpression is associated with poor prognoses in certain cancers. Additionally, it can cooperate with other transcription factors to promote specific cellular functions. In the context of skeletal muscle gene expression, OCT1 is identified as an upstream regulator involved in transcriptional regulation and cellular homeostasis.
