Product Information
KE00988 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human NUP214 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human NUP214. The assay recognizes human NUP214. An antibody specific for human NUP214 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human NUP214 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human NUP214 is added to detect the captured human NUP214 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
NUP214, also known as CAN, is a nucleoporin that is an essential component of the nuclear pore complex (NPC), which plays a crucial role in nucleocytoplasmic transport. It is a large protein with a molecular weight of approximately 214 kDa and contains multiple domains that facilitate its interaction with other proteins and nucleic acids. It is often involved in fusion genes in leukemia, such as SET-NUP214, which is associated with poor prognosis in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. NUP214 rearrangements alone are insufficient to induce leukemia but contribute to drug resistance. NUP214 also interacts with other nucleoporins and is essential for maintaining normal cellular functions.
