Product Information
KE00986 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human NDUFB8 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human NDUFB8. The assay recognizes human NDUFB8. An antibody specific for human NDUFB8 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human NDUFB8 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human NDUFB8 is added to detect the captured human NDUFB8 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
NDUFS8 is encoded by a nuclear gene and is a member of the respiratory chain complex I. Respiratory chain complex I (CI; NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase), one of the largest membrane-bound protein complexes in the human cell, is essential for oxidative energy metabolism as it powers ATP synthesis by using the reducing potential of NADH to proton translocation across the inner mitochondrial membrane.
