Product Information
KE00811 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human/mouse TOLLIP ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human/mouse TOLLIP. The assay recognizes human/mouse TOLLIP. An antibody specific for human/mouse TOLLIP has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human/mouse TOLLIP protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human/mouse TOLLIP is added to detect the captured human/mouse TOLLIP protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
TOLLIP (Toll-interacting protein) is an intracellular adaptor protein with diverse actions throughout the body. In a context- and cell type-specific manner, TOLLIP can function as an inhibitor of inflammation and endoplasmic-reticulum stress, an activator of autophagy, or a critical regulator of intracellular vacuole trafficking. TOLLIP plays a central role in autophagy, in which it binds with the central protein LC3, which complexes with ubiquitinated protein aggregates that are then shuttled via autophagosomes to lysosomes for clearance.
