Product Information
KE00932 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human/mouse/rat TDO2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human/mouse/rat TDO2. The assay recognizes human/mouse/rat TDO2. An antibody specific for human/mouse/rat TDO2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human/mouse/rat TDO2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human/mouse/rat TDO2 is added to detect the captured human/mouse/rat TDO2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
TDO2 (tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase) is a heme-containing intracellular enzyme that is primarily localized in the cytoplasm. It catalyzes the first step in tryptophan metabolism, converting tryptophan to kynurenine. This process plays a key role in immune regulation by suppressing T cell activity to maintain immune homeostasis. TDO2 is highly expressed in various cancers, such as glioma, breast cancer, and colorectal cancer. Its high expression is associated with tumor progression and an immunosuppressive microenvironment, making it a potential target for cancer immunotherapy. In addition, TDO2 is also involved in cardiovascular diseases and metabolic regulation, holding significant biological and clinical research value.
