Product Information
KE00965 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human/mouse/rat NOX1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human/mouse/rat NOX1. The assay recognizes human/mouse/rat NOX1. An antibody specific for human/mouse/rat NOX1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human/mouse/rat NOX1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human/mouse/rat NOX1 is added to detect the captured human/mouse/rat NOX1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
NOX1 (NADPH Oxidase 1) is a membrane-bound NADPH oxidase belonging to the NOX family. It is primarily localized in the plasma membrane and endoplasmic reticulum membrane, where it catalyzes the oxidation of NADPH to generate superoxide anion (O₂⁻) and hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂). These reactive oxygen species (ROS) play crucial roles in cell signaling, oxidative stress responses, inflammation, and immune defense. The activity of NOX1 is regulated by several accessory subunits (such as p22phox, NOXO1, NOXA1, and RAC1), which together form a complex to exert its function. Aberrant expression of NOX1 is associated with various diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, inflammatory disorders, and certain types of cancer. Therefore, NOX1 is an important target for studying the mechanisms of oxidative stress, inflammation, and tumorigenesis.
