Product Information
KE00643 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human MYL3 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human MYL3. The assay recognizes human MYL3. An antibody specific for human MYL3 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human MYL3 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human MYL3 is added to detect the captured human MYL3 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
MYL3, also named as MLC1v, is an essential light chain of myosin that is associated with muscle contraction. It is expressed in ventricular and slow skeletal muscle. Mutations of MYL3 gene cause hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. MYL3 has been identified as potential serum biomarker for drug induced myotoxicity. Great increase in MYL3 serum concentration has been observed in rats with cardiac and skeletal muscle injury.
