Product Information
KE01004 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human/mouse LIMPII ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human/mouse LIMPII. The assay recognizes human/mouse LIMPII. An antibody specific for human/mouse LIMPII has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human/mouse LIMPII protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human/mouse LIMPII is added to detect the captured human/mouse LIMPII protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Lysosome membrane protein II (LIMPII) is a member of the CD36 family. It is a lysosomal membrane protein that plays a role in the targeting of lysosomal enzymes and the regulation of lysosomal function. LIMPII is involved in the transport and processing of lysosomal enzymes, ensuring their proper delivery to lysosomes. Additionally, LIMPII has been identified as a receptor for glucocerebrosidase (GCase), an enzyme involved in the degradation of glucocerebroside. This receptor function is crucial for the proper functioning of lysosomes and the overall metabolic health of the cell.
