KE00978 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human/mouse DCC ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human/mouse DCC. The assay recognizes human/mouse DCC. An antibody specific for human/mouse DCC has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human/mouse DCC protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human/mouse DCC is added to detect the captured human/mouse DCC protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
DCC, also named as IGDCC1, belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and DCC family. DCC is a receptor for netrin required for axon guidance. DCC mediates axon attraction of neuronal growth cones in the developing nervous system upon ligand binding. Its association with UNC5 proteins may trigger signaling for axon repulsion. DCC also acts as a dependence receptor required for apoptosis induction when not associated with the netrin ligand.
