Product Information
KE00849 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human MYO9B ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human MYO9B. The assay recognizes human MYO9B. An antibody specific for human MYO9B has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human MYO9B protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human MYO9B is added to detect the captured human MYO9B protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
MYO9B (Myosin IXB) is a member of the myosin superfamily of motor proteins that plays a crucial role in intracellular trafficking, cell migration, and cytoskeletal organization. It acts as a Rho GTPase-activating protein (RhoGAP), meaning it regulates the activity of RhoA, a small GTPase involved in cell signaling. This protein is highly expressed in immune cells, epithelial tissues, and the nervous system, where it contributes to processes such as phagocytosis, cell polarization, and barrier integrity. MYO9B is strongly associated with IBD, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, suggesting its involvement in the development of these conditions. Additionally, MYO9B's interaction with the actin cytoskeleton makes it essential for maintaining cellular structure and facilitating mechanotransduction.
