Product Information
KE00405 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human MDM1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human MDM1. The assay recognizes human MDM1. An antibody specific for human MDM1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human MDM1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human MDM1 is added to detect the captured human MDM1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Mdm1 nuclear protein (MDM1) is a microtubule-binding nuclear protein that localizes to the centrioles of dividing cells and differentiating multiciliated cells. It plays a crucial role in negatively regulating centriole duplication. MDM1 may also play a significant role in the function and structure of photoreceptor cells in the retina. Its dysfunction may be related to neurodevelopmental defects, polycystic kidneys, obesity, polydactyly, and retinal degeneration. The soluble form of MDM1 or its functional equivalents may participate in cellular processes beyond the nucleus and centrioles, potentially influencing endolysosomal dynamics and lipid homeostasis.
