Background
LRIG3, or leucine-rich repeats and immunoglobulin-like domains 3, is a member of the LRIG family of transmembrane proteins. LRIG3 is known to play a role in the regulation of growth factor receptor signaling, which includes receptor tyrosine and serine/threonine kinases. LRIG3 has been implicated in various biological processes, including the regulation of tumor growth and angiogenesis. It has been reported that LRIG3 can act as a tumor suppressor in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), where it modulates the proliferation, migration, and invasion of glioma cells by targeting the EGFR and MET signaling pathways.
