Product Information
KE00653 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human LBR ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human LBR. The assay recognizes human LBR. An antibody specific for human LBR has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human LBR protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human LBR is added to detect the captured human LBR protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Lamin B Receptor (LBR) is an integral protein of the inner nuclear membrane originally identified by in vitro binding to lamin B. Its N-terminal domain anchors heterochromatin to the nuclear periphery, contributing to the structural integrity of the nucleus and influencing gene expression. Its transmembrane domain acts as a sterol C-14 reductase, which is essential for cholesterol synthesis. LBR mutations are also associated with milder forms of skeletal dysplasia, such as spontaneously regressing bone dysplasia and spondylometaphyseal dysplasia.
