Product Information
KE00517 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human LAMR1/RPSA ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human LAMR1/RPSA. The assay recognizes human LAMR1/RPSA. An antibody specific for human LAMR1/RPSA has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human LAMR1/RPSA protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human LAMR1/RPSA is added to detect the captured human LAMR1/RPSA protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Ribosomal protein SA (RPSA), also known as laminin receptor 1 (LamR1), is a vital component of the ribosomal machinery in eukaryotic cells. It is primarily involved in the assembly and functioning of the ribosome, the cellular structure responsible for protein synthesis. It is characterized by its dual function, acting not only as a ribosomal component but also as a receptor for laminin, a key extracellular matrix protein. Ribosomal proteins, including RPSA, are known for their essential roles in ribosome assembly and protein translation, but they also exhibit ribosome-independent functions that are increasingly recognized in signaling pathways and cellular responses to external stimuli.
