Product Information
KE00898 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human IRF9 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human IRF9. The assay recognizes human IRF9. An antibody specific for human IRF9 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human IRF9 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human IRF9 is added to detect the captured human IRF9 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
IRF9, also known as Interferon Regulatory Factor 9, is a key transcriptional regulator that mediates interferon (IFN) signaling as part of the ISGF3 (IFN-stimulated gene factor 3) complex (along with STAT1 and STAT2). It binds to interferon-stimulated response elements (ISREs) in DNA, activating the expression of IFN-stimulated genes (ISGs) critical for antiviral defense, immune regulation, and tumor suppression. IRF9 plays a central role in the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, particularly in response to type I and type III IFNs. Dysregulation of IRF9 has been linked to autoimmune diseases, viral infections, and cancer, highlighting its importance in immune and inflammatory responses.
