Product Information
KE00914 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human IRF7 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human IRF7. The assay recognizes human IRF7. An antibody specific for human IRF7 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human IRF7 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human IRF7 is added to detect the captured human IRF7 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Interferon Regulatory Factor 7 (IRF7) is a master transcriptional regulator initially identified for its critical role in the production of type I interferons (IFN I) and the regulation of innate immune responses. Research has revealed that IRF7 is a multifunctional protein involved in a wide range of biological processes, including antiviral immunity, autoimmunity, and inflammation. Its activation is triggered by exogenous or abnormal nucleic acids, which are recognized by pattern recognition receptors (PRRs), leading to downstream signaling cascades.
