Background
IL-7R is a heterodimer composed of two chains, the α chain IL-7RA (also known as CD127) and the common cytokine receptor γ chain IL-2Rγ(also known as CD132). CD127 is a type I membrane glycoprotein expressed on thymocytes, B cell precursors, most T cells, and some lymphoid and myeloid cells. CD127 can also act as a receptor for thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP). The levels of soluble form of CD127 (sCD127) could be used as a biomarker for septic shock, tuberculosis, and systemic lupus erythematosus.
