Product Information
KE00752 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human IL-4RA/CD124 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human IL-4RA/CD124. The assay recognizes human IL-4RA/CD124. An antibody specific for human IL-4RA/CD124 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human IL-4RA/CD124 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human IL-4RA/CD124 is added to detect the captured human IL-4RA/CD124 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Interleukin-4 receptor subunit alpha (IL-4RA, also known as CD124) is a transmembrane glycoprotein, which is expressed in a wide variety of hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells and plays a crucial role in immune responses. It serves as a receptor for both IL-4 and IL-13. The IL-4 response is involved in promoting Th2 differentiation, while IL-4/IL-13 responses regulate IgE production and chemokine and mucus production at sites of allergic inflammation. Additionally, soluble IL-4R inhibits IL-4 mediated cell proliferation and IL-5 up-regulation by T-cells.
