Product Information
KE00593 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human IGFBP1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human IGFBP1. The assay recognizes human IGFBP1. An antibody specific for human IGFBP1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human IGFBP1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human IGFBP1 is added to detect the captured human IGFBP1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
IGFBP1 (Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein-1) is a member of the IGFBP family, which plays a crucial role in regulating the actions of insulin-like growth factors (IGFs). It has conserved disulfide-linked cysteines in its N- and C-terminal domains that determine high-affinity IGF binding. IGFBP1 is mainly synthesized in the liver and regulates metabolism in mammals. IGFBP1 has been implicated in various pathophysiological conditions. Its dysregulation is associated with metabolic diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and certain types of cancer.
