Product Information
KE00999 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human GSTP1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human GSTP1. The assay recognizes human GSTP1. An antibody specific for human GSTP1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human GSTP1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human GSTP1 is added to detect the captured human GSTP1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Glutathione S-transferase Pi (GSTP1) is anisozyme encoded by the GST pi gene that plays an importantregulatory role in detoxification, anti‑oxidative damage, and the occurrence of various diseases. GSTP1 conjugates reduced glutathione to a wide number of exogenous and endogenous hydrophobic electrophiles. It is involved in the formation of glutathione conjugates of both prostaglandin A2 (PGA2) and prostaglandin J2 (PGJ2). GSTP1 methylation is frequently associated with tumor development or poor prognosis in a wide range of tumors such as neuroblastoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, endometrial, breast, and prostate cancers (PCa).
