Product Information
KE00984 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human GLUD2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human GLUD2. The assay recognizes human GLUD2. An antibody specific for human GLUD2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human GLUD2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human GLUD2 is added to detect the captured human GLUD2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Glutamate dehydrogenase 2 (GLUD2) catalyzes the reversible interconversion of glutamate to α-KG and ammonia while reducing NAD(P) + to NAD(P)H as cofactors. This enzyme plays a key role in cellular homeostasis, being at the interface between amino acid and carbohydrate metabolism. GLUD2 is linked to important cellular processes including Krebs cycle, ammonia control and energy generation.
