Product Information
KE00736 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human GBP2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human GBP2. The assay recognizes human GBP2. An antibody specific for human GBP2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human GBP2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human GBP2 is added to detect the captured human GBP2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Guanylate binding protein 2 (GBP2) is a member of the guanine binding protein (GBP) family that can bind to guanine nucleotides (GMP, GDP, and GTP). GBP2 is used as a marker of interferon (IFN) responsiveness, because it is one of the most highly expressed genes after IFN-γ stimulation. GBP2 involved in various immune responses and plays a role in the host defense against pathogens. Additionally, GBP2 has been identified as a prognostic biomarker in certain cancers, including breast cancer and clear cell renal cell carcinoma. GBP2 also participates in the regulation of immune responses through pathways like STAT1 signaling.
