KE00990 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human GATA6 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human GATA6. The assay recognizes human GATA6. An antibody specific for human GATA6 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human GATA6 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human GATA6 is added to detect the captured human GATA6 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
GATA6 (GATA Binding Protein 6) is a member of the GATA family of zinc finger transcription factors that plays pivotal roles in early embryonic development and tissue homeostasis. It is highly expressed in endoderm-derived tissues (e.g., pancreas, intestines) and mesoderm-derived organs (e.g., heart, vascular system), where it regulates cell differentiation, proliferation, and morphogenesis. In cancer, GATA6 exhibits context-dependent roles, acting as a tumor suppressor in colorectal cancer but promoting aggressiveness in gliomas. GATA6 is a critical transcription factor with diverse roles in development and disease, affecting various tissues and signaling pathways.
