Product Information
KE00595 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human FKBP11 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human FKBP11. The assay recognizes human FKBP11. An antibody specific for human FKBP11 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human FKBP11 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human FKBP11 is added to detect the captured human FKBP11 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
FKBP11 (FK506 binding protein 11, also named FKBP19) was first described as predominantly expressed in secretory tissues, including the pancreas, and recent studies have suggested a role in beta cell survival under conditions of ER stress. In addition, FKBP11 appears to play a role in osteoblasts and bone formation, where it has been observed to associate with interferon-inducible transmembrane protein 5 (IFITM5).
