Product Information
KE00683 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human FGFR2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human FGFR2. The assay recognizes human FGFR2. An antibody specific for human FGFR2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human FGFR2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human FGFR2 is added to detect the captured human FGFR2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
FGFR2 (Fibroblast growth factor receptor 2) is a tyrosine-protein kinase that acts as a cell-surface receptor for fibroblast growth factors and plays an essential role in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and apoptosis. Ligand binding leads to the activation of several signaling pathways, such as RAS, MAPK1/ERK2, MAPK3/ERK1, and the MAP Kinase signaling pathway, as well as the AKT1 signaling pathway. Mutations in the gene of FGFR2 are associated with Crouzon syndrome, Pfeiffer syndrome, Craniosynostosis, Apert syndrome, Jackson-Weiss syndrome, Beare-Stevenson cutis gyrata syndrome, Saethre-Chotzen syndrome, and syndromic craniosynostosis.
