Product Information
KE00968 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human ERp57/ERp60 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human ERp57/ERp60. The assay recognizes human ERp57/ERp60. An antibody specific for human ERp57/ERp60 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human ERp57/ERp60 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human ERp57/ERp60 is added to detect the captured human ERp57/ERp60 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
ERp57, also known as P58, PDIA3, ER60, ERp57, ERp60, ERp61, GRP57, GRP58, and PI-PLC, is a member of the PDI family. It participates in the oxidation, reduction, and isomerization of disulfide bonds for the correct folding of secretory proteins before modification and transport in the endoplasmic reticulum. It is associated with apoptosis or inhibition of cancer cell growth. ERp57 was once thought to be a phospholipase; however, it has been demonstrated that this protein has protein disulfide isomerase activity. It is thought that complexes of lectins and ERp57 mediate protein folding by promoting formation of disulfide bonds in their glycoprotein substrates.
