KE00964 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human DRD1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human DRD1. The assay recognizes human DRD1. An antibody specific for human DRD1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human DRD1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human DRD1 is added to detect the captured human DRD1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that plays a crucial role in physical and mental health, such as cardiovascular, hormonal, renal, and central nervous systems. Five subtypes of mammalian dopamine receptors are grouped into two classes, the D1- and D2-like classes. The D1-like class includes D1 and D5 receptors whereas the D2-like class includes D2, D3, D4 subtypes. Dopamine receptor D1 (DRD1) is the most abundant form of dopamine receptor in the central nervous system. DRD1 stimulates adenylate cyclase, modulates D2 receptor activity, regulates neuron growth and differentiation, and mediates several behavioral responses.
