Product Information
KE01005 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human DDX18 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human DDX18. The assay recognizes human DDX18. An antibody specific for human DDX18 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human DDX18 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human DDX18 is added to detect the captured human DDX18 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
DDX18 (DEAD-box helicase 18) is a member of the DEAD-box RNA helicase family, utilizing the energy derived from ATP hydrolysis to bind and remodel RNA structures. It plays a central role in various key RNA metabolic processes, including the processing of ribosomal RNA (rRNA), ribosome assembly, pre-mRNA splicing, and miRNA biogenesis. Studies have shown that DDX18 is crucial for cell proliferation, cell cycle regulation, and the maintenance of genomic stability. Aberrant expression or function of DDX18 is closely related to the occurrence and development of various cancers (such as liver cancer and colorectal cancer), promoting tumor progression by affecting the translation of oncogenes and cell proliferation signaling pathways, thus being considered as a potential tumor therapeutic target.
