KE00729 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human DCP1A ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human DCP1A. The assay recognizes human DCP1A. An antibody specific for human DCP1A has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human DCP1A protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human DCP1A is added to detect the captured human DCP1A protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
DCP1 decapping enzyme homolog A (S. cerevisiae), known as mRNA-decapping enzyme 1A (DCP1A), is necessary for the degradation of mRNAs, both in normal mRNA turnover and in nonsense-mediated mRNA decay. Removes the 7-methyl guanine cap structure from mRNA molecules, yielding a 5'-phosphorylated mRNA fragment and 7m-GDP. Contributes to the transactivation of target genes after stimulation by TGFB1.
