Product Information

KE00816 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human DCBLD2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human DCBLD2. The assay recognizes human DCBLD2. An antibody specific for human DCBLD2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human DCBLD2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human DCBLD2 is added to detect the captured human DCBLD2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information

DCBLD2 (also known as CLCP1 or ESDN) is a transmembrane protein belonging to the DCBLD family, characterized by extracellular discoidin, CUB, and LCCL domains. It plays roles in cell adhesion, signaling, and vascular biology, with emerging implications in cancer progression, angiogenesis, and cardiovascular diseases. DCBLD2 is upregulated in certain tumors (e.g., glioblastoma, lung cancer) and may regulate receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) pathways, including EGFR and PDGFR. Its exact mechanisms remain under investigation, but it is suggested to influence cell migration, proliferation, and tumor microenvironment interactions.
