Product Information
KE00883 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human CTRL ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human CTRL. The assay recognizes human CTRL. An antibody specific for human CTRL has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human CTRL protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human CTRL is added to detect the captured human CTRL protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CTRL (Copper Transporter) is a transmembrane protein belonging to the CTR family, primarily responsible for the uptake of extracellular copper ions and their distribution within the cell. It is highly conserved across various species and is crucial for maintaining cellular copper homeostasis. CTRL captures copper ions through its N-terminal extracellular domain and transports them into the cell, ensuring their proper distribution within the cell. Dysfunction of CTRL is associated with a variety of diseases, including neurological disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and resistance to platinum-based chemotherapeutic drugs.
