Product Information
KE00450 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human CSF2RA/CD116 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human CSF2RA/CD116. The assay recognizes human CSF2RA/CD116. An antibody specific for human CSF2RA/CD116 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human CSF2RA/CD116 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human CSF2RA/CD116 is added to detect the captured human CSF2RA/CD116 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CSF2RA, also known as CD116, is the alpha subunit of the heterodimeric receptor for colony-stimulating factor 2 (GM-CSF). CSF2RA plays a crucial role in the proliferation, differentiation, and functional activation of hematopoietic cells. CSF2RA is over-expressed in certain cancers and most immune cells, which may contribute to the activation of the immune system. The CSF2RA deletion in mice has been shown to attenuate the pro-inflammatory response and improve survival in the context of acute lung injury (ALI) induced by ricin toxin (RT).
