KE00356 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human CEACAM6 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human CEACAM6. The assay recognizes human CEACAM6. An antibody specific for human CEACAM6 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human CEACAM6 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human CEACAM6 is added to detect the captured human CEACAM6 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CEACAM6, also known as CD66c, is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-linked cell surface protein that belongs to the CEACAM family of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is normally expressed on the surface of myeloid and epithelial surfaces and upregulated preferentially at the apical/luminal membranes of many tumors. CEACAM6 plays an important role in cell adhesion, proliferation, tumorigenesis, metastasis, and immunity.
