Product Information
KE00712 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human CD97 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human CD97. The assay recognizes human CD97. An antibody specific for human CD97 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human CD97 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human CD97 is added to detect the captured human CD97 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CD97 is a member of the seven-transmembrane subfamily of the class B G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) group of the epidermal growth factor (EGF). It is present on the surface of lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, granulocytes, and smooth muscle, being a dimeric glycoprotein. It plays a vital role in cell adhesion, migration, and cell connection regulation. CD97 is expressed on T-cells, but rarely on B-cells. CD97 might play key roles in cellular adhesion, through connections with other proteins of the cell surface and of the extracellular matrix.
