Product Information
KE00749 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human CD79b ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human CD79b. The assay recognizes human CD79b. An antibody specific for human CD79b has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human CD79b protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human CD79b is added to detect the captured human CD79b protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CD79b is a member of the Ig-Superfamily. It is a crucial component of the B cell antigen receptor (BCR) complex, essential for B cell activation and function. CD79b forms a heterodimer with CD79a (Igα) and is involved in BCR signaling, which is critical for B cell development, proliferation, and differentiation. The N-terminal tyrosine kinase structure domain of CD79b can recruit and activate downstream signaling molecules such as Syk, playing a core role in B cell signaling. Moreover, mutations in CD79b can lead to constitutive activation of downstream signaling pathways, contributing to B cell lymphoma development.
