Product Information
KE00659 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human CD79a ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human CD79a. The assay recognizes human CD79a. An antibody specific for human CD79a has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human CD79a protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human CD79a is added to detect the captured human CD79a protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CD79a is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein, primarily localized in the cell membrane of B cells and a crucial component of the B cell receptor (BCR) complex. It forms a disulfide-linked heterodimer with CD79b (Igβ), which non-covalently associates with membrane-bound immunoglobulins on B cells to form the BCR. This complex is essential for B cell antigen recognition, activation, proliferation, and differentiation. Moreover, the CD79a expression level is associated with the pathogenesis of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
