Product Information
KE00512 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human BTLA/CD272 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human BTLA/CD272. The assay recognizes human BTLA/CD272. An antibody specific for human BTLA/CD272 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human BTLA/CD272 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human BTLA/CD272 is added to detect the captured human BTLA/CD272 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
BTLA, also known as CD272, is a member of the CD28 superfamily and is a type I membrane glycoprotein identified as an inhibitory receptor. BTLA is extensively expressed in lymph nodes, thymus, and spleen, with little or no expression in organs such as the heart, kidney, brain, and liver. Among immune cells, BTLA is primarily expressed in B and T cells, with higher expression in B cells compared to T cells in the mouse spleen. BTLA plays a crucial role in regulating stimulatory and inhibitory signals in immune responses.
