Product Information

KE00579 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human BMPR1B ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human BMPR1B. The assay recognizes human BMPR1B. An antibody specific for human BMPR1B has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human BMPR1B protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human BMPR1B is added to detect the captured human BMPR1B protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information

BMPR1B (Bone morphogenetic protein receptor type-1B) is also named as CDw293, activin-like kinase 6. BMPR1B, a member of the bone morphogenic protein (BMP) receptor family of transmembrane serine/threonine kinase, belongs to the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily. The transmembrane protein produced by the BMPR1B gene mainly participates in the signal transduction pathway of transforming growth factor-beta superfamily to promote ovarian follicular and embryonic development. The BMPR1 group comprises the BMPR‐IA and BMPR‐IB receptors; though other receptors are expressed in various cell types, the expression of BMPR‐IB, encoded by the BMPR1B gene, is significant in the adrenal, brain, endometrial, ovarian and prostate tissue.
