Product Information
KE01013 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human ATIC ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human ATIC. The assay recognizes human ATIC. An antibody specific for human ATIC has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human ATIC protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human ATIC is added to detect the captured human ATIC protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Bifunctional purine biosynthesis protein ATIC(also known as AICAR) is an enzyme that can catalyze the last two reactions in the de novo purine biosynthetic pathway. The N-terminal domain has phosphoribosylaminoimidazolecarboxamide formyltransferase activity, and the C-terminal domain has IMP cyclohydrolase activity. A mutation in this gene results in AICA-ribosiduria. ATIC has been previously reported to be upregulated and to participate in myeloma and hepatocellular carcinoma progression.
