Product Information
KE00861 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human APOH ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human APOH. The assay recognizes human APOH. An antibody specific for human APOH has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human APOH protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human APOH is added to detect the captured human APOH protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Apolipoprotein H (ApoH), also known as beta2-glycoprotein I (B2-GPI), is a plasma glycoprotein, primarily synthesized in the liver. It has an important function in blood coagulation and clearance of apoptotic bodies from the circulation. APOH is found on several classes of lipoproteins, and is involved in the activation of lipoprotein lipase in lipid metabolism. ApoH is also an important actor of host innate immune response through its capacity to bind with high affinity to a large panel of pathogens or their proteins.
