Product Information
KE00513 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human AGXT ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human AGXT. The assay recognizes human AGXT. An antibody specific for human AGXT has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human AGXT protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human AGXT is added to detect the captured human AGXT protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
AGXT (Alanine-glyoxylate aminotransferase) is mostly localized in the peroxisomes and is involved in glyoxylate detoxification. Knocking down of AGXT in the hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cell line could induce a cell cycle shift from G0/G1 to S and G2/M together with enhanced cell proliferation, increased cell death, and migration. Moreover, a systematic analysis of liver tissues from patients with primary hyperoxaluria revealed high rates of chronic liver disease, hepatic inflammation and fibrosis in patients with AGXT dysfunction
