It governs keratinocyte differentiation and balances epithelial cell proliferation versus differentiation. GRHL3 exerts dual‑faceted roles in malignancies; it acts as a tumor suppressor in skin squamous‑cell carcinoma while promoting proliferation and metastasis in colorectal cancer.
