Background Information
GGT7 (Glutathione hydrolase 7), a member of the gamma-glutamyltransferase family, is highly expressed in brain and was previously shown to have decreased expression in gliomas. Reports on the protein expression analysis of GGT7 are only limited to ovarian cancer and glioblastoma. Loss of GGT7 would lead to increased ROS activity, and in turn, stimulate tumorigenic phenotypes (PMID: 41316810, 25884624). GGT7 was identified as a heterodimer consisting of two glycosylated subunits with a mean molecular mass of 80 kDa and 29 kDa, respectively (PMID: 33916150).
