Background Information
GBA3(cytosolic beta-glucosidase) is also named as CBG, CBGL1 and belongs to the glycosyl hydrolase 1 family and Klotho subfamily. It catalyses the hydrolysis of O-linkedβ-glycosidic bonds at the non-reducing end of carbohydrates with retention of anomeric configuration. It is a 53-kDa monomeric protein with a pI of 4.7-4.8, present in the liver, kidney, intestine and spleen of humans(PMID:12667141). It has 2 isoforms produced by alternative splicing.
