Background Information
DPPA3 (developmental pluripotency related 3), also known as STELLAR, which is a protein which plays a key role in embryonic development and epigenetic reprogramming, and is specifically expressed in embryonic stem cells and germ-line cells. In mice, DPPA3, as a maternal factor, plays a role in the pre-implantation development stage, participating in transcription inhibition, cell division and cell pluripotency maintenance. The predicted molecular weight is 17 kDa and the observed molecular weight is 23 kDa.
