Background Information
CTP synthase (CTPS) is a ubiquitous, cytosolic glutamine amidotransferase that catalyzes the ATP-dependent conversion of uridine-5′-triphosphate (UTP) to cytidine-5′-triphosphate (CTP) - the final, rate-limiting step in the de novo pyrimidine biosynthetic pathway.
