Background Information
CAPZA3 encodes an actin capping protein, one of the F-actin capping protein alpha subunit family. In vertebrates, the α subunit is encoded by three CAPZA genes, CAPZA1, CAPZA2 and CAPZA3, which encode α1, α2 and α3 subunits, respectively(PMID: 32338762). CAPZA3 is expressed exclusively in the testis and sperm(PMID: 12029070).
