Background Information

Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) is a key synaptic signaling molecule that regulates numerous physiological functions. CaMK2N2, also known as CAMKIIN, is one of the endogenous inhibitors of CaMKII. CaMK2N2 plays an important role in regulating cell growth (PMID: 11444830).
