Background Information
Arrest-type spermatogenic failure refers to the arrest of spermatogenesis at a specific stage, such as spermatogonia, spermatocytes, or spermatids. It is mainly caused by genetic factors, particularly variants in key spermatogenic genes (e.g., TEX11, MSH5, C3ORF62, MEI1, etc.), and represents one of the most distinctive forms of male infertility (PMID: 41669890). The C3orf62 is essential for normal spermatogenesis and male fertility (PMID: 33064489; 38175751).
