Background Information
APOL5 belongs to the apolipoprotein L family. The pathological expression of the apolipoproteins during pregnancy is implicated in fetal growth retardation, preeclampsia, and the onset of adult atherosclerosis [PubMed: 11374903]. APOL5 may affect the movement of lipids in the cytoplasm or allow the binding of lipids to organelles. This antibody is specific to APOL5.
